Chester Crews Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stone Brothers Funeral Home - Fort Pierce on Mar. 12, 2026.
Chester Lee Crews was born into a strong family of faith on October 13,1944, in Georgetown, Georgia to the late Lieutenant Peter Mac Crews Jr. and Lizzie Mae Crews. He attended grade school in Quitman County Georgia. Chester accepted Christ at an early age. Chester was united in marriage to Alberta Jones Crews on June 14, 1969, in Fort Pierce, Florida. Three beautiful girls were blessed to this union. The couple was married for fifty-six years.

After marriage and starting a family Chester decided to be fully committed to his Christian walk. He joined Mount Moriah Primitive Baptist Church and served on the Deacon, Trustee and Usher Board. He loved leading devotion and singing his favorite song, "This little light of mine" and favorite hymn, "A charge to keep I have." Deacon Crews Faithfully attended Mount Moriah Primitive Baptist Church until his health began to fail. Chester served the Treasure Coast by having a lawn business, being employed at the juice plant, and supervising different construction sites.

Deacon Crews will be remembered most for his love for family, dependability, outstanding leadership, and willingness to help others. After an extended illness, he transitioned to his Heavenly Home on March 2, 2026. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Peter Mac Crews III and Joe Louis Jones.

He leaves in the loving hands of God his wife: Alberta Crews; daughters: Tiffany Crews, Simone Crews, and Chestina Crews; grandchildren: David Durden, BreAnna Wilburn, Cornelius Pollock, Christion Smith, Brandon Smith, and Christina Smith; great grandchildren: Layla Wilburn, Landen Franklin, and Adalyn Pollock; brothers: Jessie Howard, Theo (Deloris) Howard, Robert Gene (Eva) Howard, Jerome (Willie Ann) Jones and Joseph Howard; sisters: Lorine Richardson and Janice Jones; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
