James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel 4278 Lafayette St. Marianna, FL (850) 482-2332 Kathryn S. Mickel, 75, of Greenwood died Monday, October 31, 2016 at her residence. Kathryn was born in Birmingham, Alabama, February 12, 1941. She moved to Jackson County in 1964 where she recieved her A.A. Degree from Chipola College. She was present chairmen for the Greenwood Town Council where she served for many years. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Marianna. She was preceded in death by grandson, Scott Mickel; daughter-in-law, Shawanna Mickel. Survivors include her husband, John Wesley Mickel of Greenwood; three sons, John Dennis Mickel and wife, Wanda of Marianna, Robert Dale Mickel and wife, Linda of Graceville and David Mickel of Pueblo West, CO; one brother, Steve Speigner and wife, Louise of Dothan; one sister, Norma K. Blount and husband, Larry of Kinsey, AL; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Eastside Baptist Church with Rev. John Rollyson officiating. Private interment will be in the Greenwood Baptist Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services, Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Eastside Baptist Church. Expressions of sympathy may be made online at Jamesandsikesfuneralhomes.com
