Rick and I go back into the early 70's and played in various groups. We lost touch when I went back to school but I have a lot of fond memories of "the ev" Even though he is no longer with us, his music will carry on. I will miss my old friend. I pray that God will touch those broken hearts that also miss him. God Bless

I will never forget "The Ev". He has been a special friend of mine and my family for many years. I am proud to say that I have played in some quite successful bands with him in the past and that he was always very well liked and enjoyed wherever he performed.
Above that, he was a good and honest man. He was a good husband and father and honored his wife and children.
I am honored to have been dear to him, as he was to me.
Rest in peace my old friend. You deserve it. With love, Daniel.

I am deeply sad to learn about Ricky. We were classmates & friends. He stayed friends with my brothers & that's where I saw him last ,at one of our get togethers.I was going through some old video tapes this week & have one he was singing & playing with my brother.Ricky was a great man & a great talent. This world has lost a great person, but Heaven gained a greater soul. And as my neice Laura said he is probally with Harold ,Tommy & Bobby trying to teach them to sing & play.
I am so sorry for his family & wish I could be there for them. Just remember the good times with him.God will help you get through this very hard time.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Through the years you were always there to talk music or the early days when mutual friends brought us together. I was lucky to have been in on several practice sessions and never found a flaw. Your voice was rich with talent and I'm glad I got to enjoy that talent. You're at peace now (but I'd be willing to bet you're trying to form a band). My Friend, I'll never forget you nor all of those times we spent talking about anything and everything music; as well as, sneaking in talking about those who brought us together. I'll never forget you and hope one day to see you again. your friendship; as well as, you will never be forgotten.

Rick(y), we both know that mutual friends brought us together and from there we'd talk endlessly about our mutual love for music. I'll forever remember those early days listening to you guys practice and then later going to the show. Through the years we still found time to talk about days gone by and our love for music. Your friendship will forever be one of the better ones I've ever had.
I can see your smile and the twinkle in your eye even now. You're at rest now and hopefully when it's my time to go we can find one another and talk about days gone by and the music we loved so much. My Friend, I'm going to miss you and I'd be willing to bet you're striking up a band. Till we meet again. Love ya My Friend. Your friend, Jan

Ricky, along with his brother Bobby, were always good friends to my family. I can remember my mom and dad talking about going to watch him sing and perform with his band and how talented he was. He was the kind of man who'd give you the shirt off his back if you were in need. My heart and prayers go out to his wife, Tanya, and family during this time of loss.
My parents had just gone to visit him the other night and were undoubtedly already saddened b/c they knew what a good friend they were about to have to say good-bye to until they are, God-willing, reunited in Heaven.
