He was born on June 3rd, 1935 in Winter Beach, Florida to parents, XO Lisle and Gladys Joiner. He graduated from Vero Beach High School and after receiving his diploma he joined the army during the Korean conflict in 1954. He was given orders for deployment into the foreign service to be stationed in Alaska before it was officially part of the US. While serving in the military as a cryptographer he attended the University of Alaska and then later upon returning to his home state took courses at Florida Technological University, now known as UCF. In those early years he walked up hills both ways to school (per stories he told his children and grandchildren). In Alaska he also saw snow for the first time and experienced minor indefinite frostbite to his fingertips. He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters, two brothers and a son named Tony. He is survived by his loving, caregiving wife of over 40 years, Wanda Lisle. His legacy proudly lives on through his four sons and two daughters: Robbie Lisle, Donnie Lisle, Michael Wise (Betsy), David Wise, Michele Williams (James) and Michele Hernandez (Joe Eichenlaub). He also leaves behind stories that will be retold by a very dear nephew, Buddy Lisle (Julie) and a very close colleague that he considered a son, Sam Meeks (Katie). He was overjoyed with smiles from all of his 11 grandchildren: Daniel, Kelly, Blake, Kearsten, Savannah, Brandon, Jenna, Cullen, Ethan, Marissa, Diana (Andrew) and even lived to play with one great-grandson, Dakota. During his career as a Chief Structural System Engineer at NASA at Kennedy Space Center he stayed heavily involved in children's lives by coaching little league for 16 years in Brevard county and being a part of and president of the booster club at Eau Gallie High School. His inventive profession gave him the opportunity to have an integral role in the Apollo, Gemini and Space Shuttle programs where he received many recognitions, awards and mementos. He retired to beautiful and scenic Jackson County where he loved exploring everything from hunting in the woods, canoeing on lakes, to motorhome adventures across the country. He attended Welcome Assembly of God Church where he grew many lifelong friendships and was instrumental in community outreach programs such as the frequent and delicious fish fries. In addition to fundraising efforts assisting families in need, he became involved in various community programs where he held esteemed roles. He served as President of East Jackson County Lion's Club, started and was First Chief of Dellwood Volunteer Fire Department and dedicated years as a local Clerk of elections. This self-made renaissance man embodied ingenuity. A man who wore many hats and wore them all well. His commitment to his family was paramount and he was blessed with so many wonderful friends who he held near to his heart. So, when your time has come and God calls your name do not be surprised to hear Bob say, "Well hello there, I've been looking for you. What took you so long?"
