Ruby Speigner Crumpler

Ruby Speigner Crumpler of Enterprise died peacefully in her sleep on March 27, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2015 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday beginning at 1:00 and continuing until service time. Ruby was born on May 5, 1931 in the County Line, Alabama Community, to Cornealius and Mamie Speigner. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Z.W. Crumpler, as well as her three sisters and one brother. Ruby enjoyed sharing her love of flowers with the community, friends, and family. Her flower arrangements, corsages, and bows were found in the decorations of many weddings, receptions, churches, and civic events. She was a Master Flower Show Judge Emeritus of the National Garden Club, Inc. and Garden Clubs of Alabama, Inc. Ruby was a long time member and past President of the Azalea Garden Club and the Enterprise Music Club. She also held numerous positions within the church, scouting organizations, and schools to support the interests of her four children. She and Z.W. were both members of First Baptist Church of Enterprise. She is survived by her children: Sue Crumpler, of Frankfort, Kentucky, David and Jamie Crumpler, of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, Linda and Eddie Phillips, of Enterprise, Alabama and Charlie Crumpler, of Enterprise, Alabama; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
