As a young, curious psych. student, Sandra gave me my first real job and experience in a "real setting".I learned so much through her guidance , friendship and the guidance and friendship of the rest of the staff.
It's funny what a person recalls in times like this, but my most vivid memory of Sandra was watching the "Cabildo" as it burned on the daily news together.I remember that she cried because she was so deeply saddened that we had lost such a valuable part of our New Orleans history. That is the kind of person that I remember her to be....Warm and sensitive, deeply passionate about the things that she loved...our city, her heritage, her profession, but mostly, her family and the ones that she loved.Sandra greatly touched my life, my only regret is that I did not keep in contact with her or any of the staff that I greatly admired.
May God bless your family in this time, and I hope that you find some comfort in the warm blessings of those who care.

Sandra was in the class behind me at Charity Hospital School of Nursing. We played basketball together, and I remember her as a good athlete-as well as a good nurse. She came by Flowers Hospital and we met again after all these yrs. This was before we moved the hospital in 1983!
I know she will be missed by her family. I am very sorry.
