Funeral services were Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, at the Salem Baptist Church in Brundidge, with interment following in Lakeview Cemetery with Bob Thrash of Keahey Funeral Home of Clio. Officiating will be Brother Bobby T. Hood, and the Revs. Cliff Allred and Rex Godwin.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Salem Baptist Church, Pascagoula Missions, P.O. Box 802, Brundidge, AL 36010.
Tommy was a firefighter with the City of Troy and retired as a lieutenant after 26 years of service. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church for 48 years and served there as an Ordained Deacon.
Tommy was preceded in death by his younger brother, Charles Howard Connell, his father, Frank Glen Connell, and his father and mother-in-law, Mack Sollie and Laurie Jean Wilson.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Rebecca Wilson Connell; mother, Ethma Connell, Troy; his son and daughter-in-law, Tom F. Connell Jr. and Torri West Connell; his daughter and son-in-law, Melanie Connell Wilson and Brian Patrick Wilson, Birmingham; his grandson, Patrick Connell Eamon Wilson, Birmingham; his brother and sister-in-law, Kenny and June Godwin Connell, Townsend, Tenn.; his niece, Brandy Connell, Big Fork, Mont.; and his sister-in-law, Kathy Wilson, Destin, Fla.
Serving as pallbearers were John Austin, Don Shehane, Thomas Outlaw, David Taylor, Chad Kilcrease, Paul Outlaw, Jade Fleming, Shawn Sims.
Honorary pallbearers were the Troy Firemen, Deacons and the Fisher of Men's Sunday school class at Salem Baptist Church.
