Walter Drake Obituary
June 23, 1941 - July 20, 2024
Walter Crawford Drake, Jr. passed peacefully on July 20, 2024, and was embraced by the arms of Jesus.
A celebration of Crawford's life will be held at Heritage Baptist Church on Friday, July 26, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., preceded by a visitation beginning at noon. A graveside service will follow on July 27, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Drake Cemetery, Huntsville, AL.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Southeast Alabama Association Ministry Center or by treating loved ones to a memorable dinner in his honor.

The Drake families have meant so much to the Robert T and Robert W McMillan families.
I was so saddened to learn of the death of Crawford. My husband Robert and Mary Jo were high school classmates.
My prayer is for comfort and healing for the families we all loved.
Robert and Crawford may now be running on those streets of gold.❤❤

W. Crawford Drake is my brother and the best a sister could ever have. He was a committed Christian, and outstanding husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and uncle who was adopted by his niece and nephew. He was a football coach who was actually a mentor and minister to his players.
He was super intelligent, always kind, wise, very funny, and loved life!! I will miss him more than words can express. M. Maples
