James Endicott Obituary

James Earl Endicott went to ride his beloved horse Jack for eternity on Jan. 11, 2018, after a very long battle with Anti-NMDA Receptor Encephalitis. James passed away at Sacred Heart Medical Center on Jan. 11, 2018, supported by friends, family and the wonderful staff.
James was born to Michelle Harrington and John Endicott on March 10, 1991, in Montana. James moved to Washington when he was still very young. He attended Deer Park Elementary, Arcadia Elementary, Riverside Middle School and Riverside High School. He graduated from Mary Walker High School with his GED.
James loved to hunt, fish, work with horses and roam in the great outdoors. His favorite horse was Jack and they rode many miles together. They competed in many PeeWee and Junior rodeos as well as other rodeos in the area. He enjoyed helping put on the rodeos and was a great help at events. It was at one of these rodeos that he got up the nerve to ask Chelcie for a date. They had known each other since they were young, but had never dated. This started their strong friendship that eventually led to their love story.
At the age of just 17, James was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. He started chemotherapy and radiation with Chelcie by his side. He faced a rough road ahead, but they decided that they made a good team, and they married while he was still undergoing treatment. The doctor warned them that he believed that James would be unable to father children. He finished his treatment; they breathed a sigh of relief, and headed out on their life together.
In July 2013, James and Chelcie received their greatest gift. A miracle baby girl they named Makayla, who they never thought they would have. They got their second miracle in August 2015 when Chelcie had a baby boy that they named Raymond. Their family was complete, and they looked forward to a wonderful future.
James was trained as a CDL truck driver and enjoyed working for Teamsters Local 690. Most recently he drove for Poe Asphalt in Post Falls, Idaho. In the off-season, he drove for United Parcel Services (UPS).
In February 2017, James unexpectedly became ill and by April he was hospitalized and never fully recovered. After nine long months of medical treatments, love and support from the hospital staff, friends and family, James made the decision to join his favorite horse Jack and ride into his final sunset.
James is survived by his wife, Chelcie; his children, Makayla and Raymond; Chelcie's parents, Dewey and Barbara Sketo of Valley, Wash.; his mother, Michelle Harrington (Norman Colvin) of Deer Park; his father, John Endicott in Montana; his sister, River Locher of Deer Park; his grandmother, Dottie Grimm (Neil) in Deer Park; two brothers, Daniel Ducommun and Zach Uhing in Montana; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Some of his favorite "family" were his friends. He was loved and will be missed deeply by all of them. James is also survived by his first born "fur child" Buck. We thank the staff at SHMC's intensive care unit for allowing Buck to be with James in his final hours.
Final arrangements were handled by Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services South Hill. Services will be held on Feb. 3, 2018 at noon at the Loon Lake Assembly of God Church, 4004 Colville Road, Loon Lake.
Donations to offset the final expenses can be sent or given to the church in the Endicott Family name.
