Melvin Mullenix Obituary
Melvin was born to Cecil and Rachel Mullenix on July 16, 1936. He was a lifelong resident of Deer Park, Washington.
He married his high school sweetheart, Merry Lou Just, on July 12, 1958. They had three children, Sheri, Joyce, and Darrin.
Melvin owned Mullenix Dump Trucking and built many roads in the Northwest. He also owned Deer Park Gravel.
Mel and Merry Lou wintered in Arizona and spent summers at their lakeside home on Loon Lake. Over the years they hosted many family gatherings.
Shooting pool, playing cards, drinking wine, and bird watching were his favorite activities. He had a special fondness for his Cockatoo "Oscar."
He is survived by his two daughters, Sheri (Rick) Splichal, Joyce (Mickey) Henning; son, Darrin (Kim) Mullenix; and sisters, Celia Garrison, and Kathi Morris.
Melvin has five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Melvin's life is planned for the summer of 2022.
