Dearest Randolph Family. Please except my sympathy for the loss of your husband and father and Grandfather. It's very difficult to lose someone you love so horribly and tragic as Sargent Billy. We have had many officers die from gunshots and wrecks here in Connecticut the past 18 Months and it's so very sad. I have relatives and friends as police officers and it's never easy thinking they are out there. I pray that you all can get through this awful tragedy especially after losing your son and brother. Always remember they will always be in your hearts and the day you leave this earth to go to heaven it will be a joyous reunion for you all. God be with you at this sad time of your lives. Always Rosanne Coletto

Lisa and family...my sincerest condolences. I got to know Bllly as the admin at your HOA meetings each year. He was one of the most kind and considerate people I have ever met. You could tell just by speaking with him that he was special. I liked him even more when I found out he was from a suburb of Baltimore just like I was, except he had more of the accent that I did.
I remember when he decided to get off the board so that he could spend more time with his family, I begged him not to because I knew we wouldn´t get someone like him to take his place.
When I think of the fact that I only knew him briefly and not very well, and loved him like I did, how very fortunate for those who were close to him.
He made a real impact in my life, and set a marvelous example.
Love and hugs to you and your family.

I did not personally know him. I just wanted to extend my condolences and sympathy to his family. To thank his family for his service because when you are a spouse of a policeman you also serve.

As I´ve said before, Billy was small in stature, but very big at heart and work ethic. He had boundless energy and enthusiasm EVERY day at work.
Unjustly disciplined on at least two occasions, he moved on to his next assignment and continued to produce at a high level with outstanding numbers, the last as a dedicated patrol Sergeant. He could have gone anywhere, but he chose to stay in patrol.
I will try and bring some levity to the situation regarding our great Billy Randolph.
Several years ago, while on East patrol, Billy was stirring it up, beating the bushes late into the shift, like at 04:30 in the morning. We only had about an hour and a half to go before going home.
I get a call that Billy has stumbled onto an odd situation.
It´s explained to me that Billy has come upon a dead duck, in the trunk of a car, in the process of a traffic stop/investigation. He makes the good arrest, I believe gets additional evidence, but he´s pretty proud of the duck. It´s a story that only a handful of knew, but loved telling over the years.
Take care Billy, Mike Anderson, Rocky and all said hello and thank for leaving such a lasting impression.
Take care buddy,
Ruben Ruiz
