Daisy Doughney Obituary

Daisy Emelia Doughney (née Regato), age 94, of Baltimore, MD, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Promedica Springhouse Assisted Living.

Born September 21, 1930 in Santa Clara, Cuba, Daisy was the only child of the late Carlos and Paula (Valles) Regato. At age 12, Daisy and her mother came to the United States and settled in Baltimore. In 1951 she graduated from Eastern High School on 33rd Street. She went on to work as a clerk for the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland until the mid 1960s at which time she became a full time homemaker, wife and mother. She lived on Stratton Way in Eastwood for over 60 years.

Daisy was an active volunteer for the American Cancer Society for many years, including several as the local unit treasurer. She enjoyed watching CBS and Univision soap operas on TV as well as the Orioles and Ravens.

Daisy is survived by her two sons, Michael (Lauren) of Highland, MD and Glen (Sandy) of North East, MD. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Thomas L. Doughney.
