Elaine Lawson Obituary

7-6-1937 to 12-28-2017
A million times
I needed you.
A million times
I cried.
If love could
have saved you,
You never would
have died.
In life, I loved
you dearly
In death,
I love you still.
In my heart,
You hold a place
No one could ever heal.
It broke my heart
To lose you,
But you didn't go alone,
A part of me went with
You the day God
Called you home.
Elaine had two daughters: Linda and Joanne; four sons, predeceased Bobby; Glenn, Vance, Jesse; nine grandchildren: Nicole and Rio; Danielle, Katelynn, Lindsay, and Jack; Glenn Jr., Justin, and Mason; many great grandchildren; and one great great grandson, Eli. She had other family members that stood by her side, Teto, Kalynn, Kendra, Vicky, Wendy, and Tall Jonah. Elaine had one sister, Ruth; a life-long friend, Bertha; and her canasta girls from Edgemere Senior Center.
Elaine retired from the Army on 4-1-1994 with many awards. Her last meal was her favorite, chocolate ice cream, her last words ("I love you too") to Savannah Chapa, her great granddaughter.
Elaine selflessly donated her body to the Anatomy Board.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Death is something we're never prepared for, but happy memories and scriptures from the Bible will comfort loved ones. May the family have peace and strength during this time.
