Maryse Bourdages Obituary

Maryse Bourdages

Beloved Friend, Daughter, Sister and Aunt

July 17, 1962 - July 27, 2025

Maryse Bourdages, a woman of immense heart, fierce loyalty, and boundless curiosity, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025, at the age of 63, surrounded by those she loved most.

Born in Montreal, Canada, Maryse proudly embraced her French Canadian heritage - a part of her identity she never compromised. She was a woman who spoke her mind, clear and direct, but for those lucky enough to be in her inner circle, she would go to the ends of the earth. Her loyalty ran deep, and her love was fierce, unwavering, and wholehearted.

Maryse devoted over 40 years of her professional life to Lallemand, a company and community she held in the highest regard. She began her career in Canada, and when asked to relocate to the United States to help expand the company's footprint, she accepted without hesitation. With grace, determination, and a tireless work ethic, she built a life and legacy across borders - ultimately achieving one of her proudest personal milestones: becoming a United States citizen. That day was not just a ceremony - it was a celebration of everything she had worked for and believed in.

Maryse was a world traveler, a lifelong explorer of cultures, cuisines, and connections. Whether she was racing across the water in a dragon boat, wandering vineyards in France or Italy, or gathered with friends for a spirited evening of conversation and laughter, she brought passion and presence to every experience.

A true wine connoisseur, Maryse approached her love for wine with intellect and joy. She didn't just drink it - she understood it, respected it, and shared it as a gesture of welcome and warmth.

She also cherished quiet, soul-filling moments - especially early mornings at her beloved beach house in Rehoboth. The sun rising over the water, the sound of the waves, and a steaming cup of coffee in hand brought her peace and clarity. Rehoboth became one of her most treasured sanctuaries, and over the years, she cultivated a beautiful community of friends there who became like family.

Her work ethic was unparalleled, her friendships unwavering, and her energy contagious. She lived by example - giving her best to everything she touched, showing up fully for the people she loved, and never hesitating to go the extra mile.

Maryse is survived by her loving mother, Jocelyne; her brother Pascal and his wife Isabelle; her brother Pierre and his wife Chantale; and her beloved nephews, Vincent and Julian, who were the lights of her life. She was predeceased by her dear father, Gilles, whose memory remained close to her heart always.

She is also lovingly remembered by many cousins, extended family members, and a wide circle of devoted friends from around the world - including the cherished community she built in Rehoboth - all of whom were touched by her unwavering kindness, vibrant spirit, and magnetic presence.

Maryse's chosen family of colleagues, confidantes, and fellow adventurers spans the globe. Each one of them carries a piece of her spirit - a reminder to live boldly, love deeply, and never turn down a good story or a great glass of wine.

In honor of Maryse's extraordinary life, may we travel with curiosity, work with integrity, love without limits, and always raise a glass in celebration.

Maryse, Your legacy lives on in the lives you touched, the memories you made, and the love you gave so freely.

Private services have been held. A celebration of Maryse's life will be planned for a future date. In the meantime, please consider honoring her memory with a donation to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, in the name of Maryse.

It’s hard to find the words when someone like Maryse leaves us. For five years, we worked side by side at Lallemand, and in that time she became far more than just a coworker—she was a steady presence, a kind soul, and a friend to many.
Maryse will always be part of the story of our team. I’ll carry her spirit with me, and I hope we all continue to honor her legacy by showing the same kindness and strength she offered us so generously.
