Elizabet Aguiar Obituary
Elizabeth M. "Betty" (Forrest) Aguiar, 88, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025 at Waterview Villa. She was the former wife of Bryant Aguiar.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Leonard W. and Lucy A. (Duffy) Aguiar. Betty was so proud of being a Registered Nurse for over 60 years and was a 1958 graduate of the Rhode Island Hospital School of Nursing. During the course of her career, she worked in the emergency room, obstetrics, private offices and in her later years, she provided private home care. Betty was truly a caregiver.
Betty will always be remembered as a gentle soul who was so kind and thoughtful. She always enjoyed writing cards to everyone, not just for the holidays but Thinking of you Cards and Birthday Cards, which always included a lucky lottery ticket. She also loved receiving those lottery tickets herself!! She was also a very avid sports fan. Among her favorites were the Boston Red Sox and Tom Brady. She was well known among her family and friends as "Sports Grammy". Her last years were spent with her friends at the Loft at Linn, enjoying music and of course, playing bingo.
Above all else was her family. Betty loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spent countless days attending their sporting events, cheerleading competitions and watching them grow up.
Betty was the mother of Beth Durand and her husband Joe, Kevin L. Aguiar, Michael J. Aguiar and the late Karen Williams. She also leaves one sister, Sue McCarthy, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Ann Schulz, Barbara Mills and Leonard Forrest, Jr.
