Sarah Blount Gibson (Sally) of Warminster, PA passed away on April 28, 2025, at home, surrounded by love. She was 80 years old.
Sally was born in Jacksonville Florida on December 2, 1944, to the late Donald F. and Jean Cumming Blount, and grew up in Barrington, RI.
Sally was a devoted mom to her five daughters and a beloved Grammy to her 16 grandchildren, whose ages span from 4 to 28.
She is survived by her daughters, Jana Beaudoin (Mark) of Trappe, PA, Kristina Shea (Eric) of Doylestown, PA, Rebecca Haas (Ken) of Phoenix, Arizona, Jennifer Whitman (Michael) of New York, NY and Sarah Sutley(Josh) of Queen Creek, Arizona; her grandchildren - Zachary, Kyle, Nicholas, Jake, Duncan, Andrew, Keira, Hunter, Katie, Grant, Tyler, Emma, Alex, Parker, Benjamin and Jaxon; her sisters, Jana Maher (Kevin) of Morris Township, NJ and Martha Keenan (Dan) of Charlottesville, VA, her brother Donald Blount of FL and many more nieces, nephews and their families.
Sally graduated from Barrington High School in 1962 and went on to attend Centenary College for Women in New Jersey before completing her bachelor's degree at the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. After college, she married her high school sweetheart, the late Stephen A. Gibson and they settled in Pennsylvania as they started their family.
Professionally, Sally dedicated more than 35 years to the department of dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. She was devoted to all patients and was a strong advocate for those without insurance. Her passion made a difference, and she modeled a strong work ethic that inspired her daughters and colleagues alike.
After retiring at age 69, Sally embraced the next chapter of her life with enthusiasm. She relished the opportunity to travel and spend quality time with her grandchildren, who were spread across Pennsylvania, Arizona and London. Whether attending football, baseball, basketball, lacrosse or soccer games, karate tournaments, concerts or piano recitals she did so with much enthusiasm, passion and pride! In her own words, she was grateful for her grandchildren, who brought light, fun, joy, sports, and happiness to her life.
Sally was incredibly kind and compassionate, always ready to help someone in need and supported many causes throughout her life. She was truly generous of heart and spirit, a legacy she leaves with all who knew and loved her.
Music was in her soul, and playing the piano was one of her favorite pastimes - a gift she shared with her family and one that inspired a few of her grandchildren to learn. Additionally, she was known for creating the most beautiful gardens and enjoyed their beauty year after year. She loved fashion and interior design, and her style and home reflected her gifts for both. Over the years, she knocked down many walls, always happy and capable to do much of the work herself.
Sally leaves a legacy of compassion, kindness, joy and love. She was devoted to her family and loved spending time with grandchildren. She will be remembered with much love.
