Adeline Hackett Obituary

Adeline Johnson Hackett Ph.D. Former Resident of Palm Desert Dr. Adeline Johnson Hackett, Ph.D., 84, of Mesa, Arizona passed away on October 23, 2007. Adeline was born in Rosetown, Saskatchewan, January 6, 1923. Her death was preceded by her parents, John and Florence Johnson; 3 brothers, John, Leonard and Edwin; and her husband William F. Hackett. Survivors include son, William; and one brother, Glenn. Adeline was a graduate from the University of California, Berkeley, Ph.D., 1965, Genetics. 1965 to 1982, Research Virologist, at University of California. 1982 to 1993 Executive Director of Peralta Cancer Research Institute. She will be missed by loved ones and colleagues. Remember her as one who cared for all, and the "Mother of Modern Cell Biology." Adeline requested no services.
