Anna Scheving Obituary

Anna Scheving, daughter of Icelandic immigrants from Mountain, North Dakota passed away on Sunday. She became a nurse and worked in Grand Forks, ND, and later Kaiser Oakland. She married Henry Scheving in 1955 and settled in El Cerrito. They raised their children in El Cerrito where they attended St. John the Baptist church and school. In later life she was a volunteer at the G. R. I. P. Souper Center in Richmond and valued the friendships she made there. Called Amma or "Ami" by the children, she was always available for a hug or a sympathetic ear. She is survived by her husband Henry, her children Gwen Rikeman (Lindsay), Tony Scheving (Anna), Chris Scheving (Catherine), Patricia Scheving (Manfred Zorn), and Margaret Scheving (Brian Rosales). Grandchildren include: Kaitlin and David Rikeman; Calvin and Andrew Spivey; Tristan, Paige, and Trevor Scheving; Raymond and Erik Rosales, and her beloved Stephanie Scheving, who cared for her until the very end of life. Step-grandchildren are: Ben and Sebastian Zorn, Jasper Rose, and Kory Bleu. In 2014 she was blessed with a darling great-grandchild, Charlotte Fjola Gray.
Funeral will be held at St. Joseph's 2540 Church Lane, San Pablo, January 27, at 12 noon; Rosary will be January 26th, 5-7 pm.
