I was aboard the Ponchatoula with him. A few years ago somehow we exchanged a few e-mails about our shipboard experiences. I was looking for an address and saw his e-mail. Of course my e-mail came back "undeliverable." Sorry to hear of his passing.

I did not know of Chuck's passing. I worked with him at GE and he taught me more than anyone in my professional life. I am saddened by his passing, but he has earned his rest with the Lord. RIP Chuck, until we meet again.

I'm very sorry to read Chuck's obituary. I'm sure that I speak for the crew of the Sea Scout Ship Oakland when I say that we are all saddened to hear of his passing. Chuck joined the Oakland and served as Personnel Training Officer in the early 60's. He, along with the other leadership, helped to make our crew "ship shape". You'll find a picture of him with some of the crew at the 1964 Old Salts Regatta receiving the "Old Salts Wheel" which was awarded to the unit that won 1st place overall. The website is:

Thanks for the memories.
