Charles Parker Obituary

Charles Louis Parker Jr.
Charles Louis Parker Jr. of Walnut Creek, CA passed away September 29, 2002. Born in Owensboro, KY in 1924, Chuck joined the Army during WWII and saw combat service in Europe as an enlisted man in the Airborne Infantry. He returned home to attend the University of Kentucky and then rejoined the Army. His career spanned almost 27 years to include two combat tours of Vietnam as a Green Beret, retiring in 1970 as a Major. He returned to work in Vietnam for a year, later his work took him to Saudi Arabia for eight years.
Chuck and his family moved to Walnut Creek, CA in 1971 and have resided there since. Married 51 years he is survived by his wife Jean, daughter Laurie, son Charles III, daughter Stephanie Chase and son-in-law Rusty, son David and daughter-in-law Elizabeth, grandchildren Jennifer Humphrey, James Chase Jr., Elizabeth Ogan and three great grand children.
He was devoted to his family, immediate and extended, and always appreciative of their love and emotional support.
A memorial service with full military honors will be held at Travis Air Force Base chapel, Friday October 18, 2002 at 2:00 pm.
