In the short time we knew Chris he gave us many memories. Among the loves he shared with us - family, baseball, music. Funny how some people have an impact on others even over just a short time. With affection, Johanna and Gary

Chris,
Thanks for being the coolest night fisherman/golfer and, as many here have said, such a warm soul. All were always welcome with you. Your memory is still fresh in mind and I miss you big time. I wish the best for your family. Your friends will continue to figure it out, but it's not nearly as fun without you showing up.

To all of you how have sent your thoughts and prayers I thank you.Chris was and is my hero. As children growing up nothing was easy. But my brother had his sports. He loved baseball, football, and if you knew him at all you had to know that he was good.I remember as a little girl I would ride my bike to the little leage hut on Saint marrys road to watch him play.I would watch the game holding on to the chain link fence. Waiting to see my big brother to be up at bat,and when he came up to bat I would scream "THATS MY BIG BROTHER" I was so proud to watch him do his thing. He was the home run king. After the game he would come to me and say. "DO YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO DO THAT? DON'T YOU THINK EVERYONE KNOWS BY NOW THAT YOUR MY LITTTLE SISTER?"I just couldn't help myself. I love him so much. I was always so proud of him and I still am.My brother is and was my hero. If you were lucky enough to know him, then you had to loved him too. Please keep his memories alive. Tell his stories, smile when he comes to mind. I love you Chris Martin. I will never stop loving you.

Your little sister
now and forever

"IF ONLY"

My young boy looks up to the sky
with his bright blue eyes
and he wonders why?

I long to be home in the
arms of my love and hear those
three voices that now sound like doves.

Where are the sounds that I
long to here, a fish in the brook,
the pounce of a deer.

I can't feel the warmth of the
sunlight nor the cool green moss
that cover the trees that hang over me.

Oh but just one more chance to
say good-bye, I loved it All,
the sounds the hugs and the
simple hi's.

But as I look up to my last
blue sky, let the whispering wind
say my last good-bye's. And the
dear lord whispers four simple words,
"how I love thee".

I loved you so.
Always, Your Aunt Betty

PS. To all of Canyon, I love you.

To my Chris

On a cold December evening
the night became so still,
No sounds from the lonely pine trees,
no whoo's from the wise old owl
as he peers down from his cozy nest,
Something here was very wrong.
It's time for Chris to rest
as he rises past the old owls tree.
Chris' smiling soul wrapped in angles wings.
I dreamed a dream he could live forever
but that hope will never be.
But God had given Chris to us to raise, to mold, to hug and laugh.
Oh how much we'll miss.
Chris opened his heart to everyone
but with broken dreams, he left.
He wants us now to use our faith
knowing God feels our pain.
Oh the heavy loss has now been dealt
but help us not to weep.
Chris knows we won't forget him
but it's time we let him sleep.

You were so so loved!

Your Aunt Betty

as you can see in this picture, even big, tough freddy loves him(and of course they're surrounded by girls)

he was a master of "bar sports"(pool and darts), and the king of quip. even on those cold canyon nights, when the only entertainment was human entertainment, he kept us all going...we all love him...

To Jeni, Sharah, and Christopher Jr. my sympathy goes to all of you at this time. I remember Chris with great affection. Chris and I were the best of friends in our youth and I have many memories of a great friend who had a big heart, clever wit, great athletic ability and the only teenager I knew who was unashamed in showing his affection for little babies!
The image captured in my mind is of Chris dancing and singing ' MIchelle' by the Beatles.
May your memories sustain you at this difficult time.

As a co-worker with Chris at Orinda Hardware,
I always looked forward to his arrival in the store.
His love of life and people was wonderful.

To Jeni, Sarah, and Christopher Jr., my deepest sympathy and love goes to all of you. Chris will always be in my heart and put a smile on my face as I think of all the fun, good times we shared. God took him too soon, and like his sister Kimmy and his father will be missed and forever loved. He wasn't just my "cousin", he was more like my "brother". I Love Him, and I Love All of You!
Your cousin,
Trisha
