Clifford Robert Wiesner

1934 - 2023

Clifford Robert Wiesner (Cliff) was peacefully called home by God on Monday afternoon, October 9, 2023. He passed away after a brief struggle with dementia. His love of people, quick wit and clever sense of humor will be greatly missed.Cliff was born in Buffalo, New York, the youngest of seven children, to David and Agnes Wiesner. He graduated from East High School and attended Canisus College. On October 8, 1955 he married his lifelong love and childhood friend, Patricia Jennings. Together they moved to the Bay Area in July, 1969. He started his career as a life insurance investigator for Prudential. In 1972 he founded his own companies: AdServ Corporation and CRW & Associates. He was an entrepreneur in the use of computer technology in the insurance industry. Before retiring he served as the Executive Director for the Monterey County Schools Insurance Group. Additionally, he was a volunteer firefighter, and a Korean War veteran. In his heart, though, he was a loving and faithful husband, a devoted father, a patriot, and a devout Catholic. He was active in many church and charitable causes throughout his life and enjoyed traveling; visiting every continent.He is survived by his loving sons, Fr. Mark Wiesner of Pleasanton, and David Wiesner of Las Vegas, and his grandchildren Matthew and Caitlin. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and his wife, with whom he longed to be reunited. Family and friends are invited to services to be held on Friday, October 27, 2023 at St. Augustine Church, 3999 Bernal Avenue, Pleasanton: Visitation at 10:00 a.m., Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. A reception will be held in the Parish Hall following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
