Dan Berkey was a friend and teammate for more than 50 years. We played, partied, and studied together at Lehigh University, and then many years later socialized a bit when we were both stationed in Houston. He was a class act, and will be missed.

Dear Ann,
Thank you for sending this. I was thinking of you all that day. I appreciate knowing more about Dan. I only met him the one time I visited all of you many summers ago, but it was obvious that you were a very happy & strong family--as you will continue to be, even in his absence. I think of you & Elizabeth & William every day & am glad Elizabeth will be continuing the Caring Tree. Love, Nancy

Ann,

It has been a long time since I saw you and Dan in Sequim. It was a real shock to hear of his death. Please accept my deepest sympathies.

I remember Dan as a young man, forever kind and gracious, a manner that belied his aggressive play as a starting lineman on our championship football team. My heartfelt condolences are sent across the miles to family and friends.
