Knew and worked with Dan in the '80s, and we enjoyed each other's company. In '86 Dan asked me to be the Engineer In Charge for a show he was doing for Roddy McDowall, and we spent weeks shooting the great stars of Hollywood together. I've known many very talented people in my life, yet Dan stood out. He didn't dabble, he excelled. He was an excellent musician. An excellent producer/engineer. An excellent cinematographer. Oh, and a whole lot of fun.
Still creating in Spirit..

I only discovered 'Captain Dan' ( CaptDan ) in November 2019 in on-line forums pertaining to the Tascam DM-3200/4800 Console series. I just finished copying and printing out several of his suggestions when I decided ( today, Friday Feb 21, 2020 ) to look him up after I noticed his last posts were in 2015. I was very saddened to learn of his passing....Having been in Music for many decades myself... and being a Consultant for a 'Sound for Film Studio' here on the East coast.. I was planning on contacting him in hopes of discussing various things. Having somehow survived two major heart attacks, living with half a heart yet doing fine ( all things considered ).. I'll often wonder why Dan was taken- when he had so much to offer ( compared to myself ).. My very belated condolences to his wife Donna and family.. I'm in my 60's and have recently begun mentoring young people ( such as an 11 yr. old musician/singer & budding Producer/Engineer ) and will now continue to do so- in Dan's memory.. We'll still have that conversation one day Dan...
