David Hansen Obituary

DAVID S. HANSEN February 2, 1946 - January 20, 2004 David S. Hansen 57, of Oakdale died Tuesday in his home of cancer. Mr. Hansen was a native of San Leandro, graduating from San Leandro High in 1963. He and his family moved in 1992 to San Ramon and retired last year from the Chronicle Newspaper. One year ago he moved to Oakdale, right on the Stanislaus River, where he dearly loved to be. Dave enjoyed going to his cabin in Lake Tahoe and gambling at the casinos. He was especially fond of horse racing. He loved to go fishing for stripers on his boat with many of his life long friends, Roy, Frankie, Sandy and Rex. Dave's greatest passion was his love for his dogs, Sara Lee, Razzy, Sunny and Angie. He is survived by his loving wife Tina Hansen, cherished daughter Dana Gould and her husband David of Brentwood, and only grandchild Jacob "Boo Boo" Gould. Proud brother to Claire Curley of Pebble Beach, Bobbie Torres of Modesto, Kathie Wormelduff and her husband Gary of Modesto, and Peggy Simi of San Leandro, brother in-law to Rea and Dick Harrington of Incline, NV, Butch and Cindy Felizianetti of Louisville, KY and son in-law to Isabelle Felizianetti of Rossmoor, and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Dave's family would like to thank all of the friends and family who helped care for him in his gallant and long battle with esophagus cancer, especially his life long friends Rex Tillson and Sandy Carbanero. We could not have done it without all their support. Dave will be greatly missed by us all. A celebration of life will be held on Sat. Jan. 24th at 1:00 at the family home in Oakdale. Contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 601 McHenry Ave., Modesto 95350.
