Diana Hagerstrand Obituary

Diana Lou Endicott Hagerstrand Resident of Pleasant Hill May 30, 1945-Oct. 24, 2011 Diana Hagerstrand passed away in her home on Monday, Oct. 24,2011 after a valiant battle with cancer. Diana was born in Mishawaka, Indiana. Her family moved to Concord, CA. in 1961. She graduated with honors from Mt. Diablo High School in 1963 and earned a degree in history from California State University, Hayward in 1967. Diana taught history and English in Alum Rock Union School district for 37 years and retired in 2004. She was a highly respected teacher and touched the lives of many young people. Diana is survived by her loving husband, Allen of 33 years and her caring daughter, Melissa of Pleasant Hill. She is also survived by her brother Edward Endicott (Jill) of Martinez, and Nieces Mary Katherine Harris (Randall) of Logan, Utah, Emily McGee (Ian) of Clayton, CA, and nephew Phillip Endicott of Walnut Creek, as well as 5 great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her father-in-law, Russell Hagerstrand of Alamo. She was devoted to her family, friends and various pets. Diana enjoyed cooking and was a gourmet chef. Her other hobbies included crocheting and making mementos for other people. A celebration of life will take place on Nov. 12,2011 at her home, 17 Bonnie Place Pleasant Hill, CA from 1:00-4:00pm.
