Donna Baker, 67, of El Cerrito, California, passed away peacefully in San Francisco, surrounded by her family on Sunday October 20, 2013.
The funeral service will be held at Sunset View Cemetery in El Cerrito on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at 1pm. A viewing will be held at Sunset View Cemetery on Saturday October 26, 2013 from 1pm to 4pm.
Donna was born in San Francisco on September 2, 1946. She graduated from Albany High School.
Donna was married to John Baker on December 11, 1971; they were married for 42 years.
Donna was an adored employee of Blue Cross, Mechanics Bank and most recently Kmart. She enjoyed playing Bunco, playing with her dog Hoover and helping those in need. She was a past member of the Albany American Legion and El Cerrito Jayceettes. She was also a member of St. John the Baptist Church in El Cerrito. She spent 15 years volunteering for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital as well as Team Depot.
Donna is survived by her loving spouse, John Baker, beloved son Jay Baker and his wife Stacey Baker, cherished daughter Catherine Johnson and her husband Michael Johnson, and step grandchildren Cody Frost and Amber McDonner, parents George and Jean Hildebrand, sisters Pam Robbins, Geri Musler and Jackie Blessings as well as brothers Rudy, Ed and Dale Johnston, step sister Barbara Recchi and step brothers Mark and Bob Hildebrand as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Donna is preceded in death by her son David Baker, brother Johnny Johnston and grandparents Rudy and Ida Perez.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The family of Donna Baker wishes to thank Johnny Holmes and his family as well as Home Depot, Kmart, Alliance Safety Council and HBO for their support.
