ELIZABETH DANIELS

Elizabeth Jane McDermott Daniels Resident of Moraga Surrounded by all four of her children, Elizabeth passed away peacefully at John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek on August 5th. She was 90 years old. "Betty" was born in Rochester, NY, to Daniel J. McDermott and Rose A. Kelly, the eldest of four children. She attended high school at West High School and continued her education at the Rochester Business Institute, where she attended a night course in Accounting. Betty served as Executive Secretary for Eastman Kodak in Rochester, and met her loving husband, Victor Daniels, at a Kodak Christmas party in 1952. The couple wed on August 14th, 1954 at St. Augustine Church. One year later they welcomed their first daughter, Jeanne Marie, to the world; soon thereafter Suzanne, Margaret Mary, and Bryan Victor. In 1965, Betty & Vic relocated their family to the San Francisco Bay Area, after Kodak promoted Vic to Regional Sales Manager for Kodak. Betty & Vic were very sociable and had many friends. Betty was a great cook and baker and she loved to entertain. Betty will be remembered for her kind heart, killer fudge, big smile and quick wit. Betty and her husband were devoted Catholics and long-time members of St. Monica's Parish in Moraga. She was actively involved in Catholic Charities, the De Poores Foundation, and St. Monica's Women's Guild. Elizabeth was pre-deceased by her siblings, Marie, Alice, and Bern. Elizabeth is survived by her daughters, Jeanne (husband Rich and granddog Rosie), Suzanne (husband Drew, grandchildren Katie, Matthew, Michael), and Margaret (husband Peter, granddaughter Karina), and son, Bryan (grandsons Kyle and Drew); and her long-time caregiver Maria Balistreri.
