Eugene Kenworthy Obituary

Eugene Allen Kenworthy April 27, 1921 - July 6, 2006 Resident of Camino, CA "Gene" passed away on July 6, 2006 at his home in Camino, CA at the age of 85 with his wife of 60 years, Betty Marie Kenworthy, by his side. Gene, as he was known by many, an only child, was a Native Californian. He was born and raised in the Bay Area and lived the first 65 years of his life in the Contra Costa area. Making his living here in Pleasant Hill, Concord and Walnut Creek in the Real Estate and Mortgage industry, he started Kenworthy Realty and Northwest Mortgage Company, and was involved in many different endeavors up until his death. He and Betty loved the wide open spaces and country side. Looking for a slower pace of life as they got older, around 20 years ago, they found some wonderful property in "Apple Hill" in Camino, CA, built a home there and began to enjoy the peacefulness of the country. His children and grandchildren visited them often, especially during "Apple Season". Gene loved to travel and just a few years ago he made his last big trip in his 5th wheel on a month long RV trek with Betty and Cody, his German Shepherd, to Alaska. He was preceded in death by his mother Helen Agnes Lusco and his cousin Donald Dalton. He is survived by his wife Betty Marie Kenworthy of Camino, his daughters Linda Rose and her husband Ernie, of Los Angeles, Sandi Vafaeenia and her husband Iraj, of Walnut Creek and Lisa Kenworthy and her companion John Carvajal, of Concord. He was "Grandpa" to Sunni Rose, Sara Vafaeenia, Tara Vafaeenia and Pasha Vafaeenia and friend to many. He will be placed to 'Rest' at Oakmont Memorial Park, Lafayette, CA. Inurnment will be private. For his family and friends a 'Celebration of his Life' will take place at an open house, Sunday, July 30, 2006 starting at 6 pm at his daughter's home @ 226 Encina Corte, Walnut Creek, CA.
