Fabiola Pearl "Faye" Trejo

Fabiola (Faye) Pearl Trejo Dec. 24, 1928 - Dec. 11, 2011 Resident of Newark Faye passed away on Dec. 11 with her daughter and beloved pets by her side. She resided in Newark for 53 years. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Faye spent her childhood years on the family farm in Michigan before the family returned to Chicago. There, in 1945, she met the love of her life, Robert Trejo, while cashiering at the family market. They married 3 months later & moved to California where they raised 2 children: Robert Jr. and Linda. Robert passed away in 2009 after 63 years of marriage. Faye lovingly cared for him throughout his battle with Alzheimer's. Faye worked for many years at Morris Fabrics in Fremont. She loved sewing, cooking, music and gardening. She remained friends with her coworkers & enjoyed their monthly luncheons until she grew too ill to attend. Bob & Faye enjoyed traveling & were able to take trips to Canada, Mexico, Alaska and throughout the U.S. Faye was always eager to explore new places & meet new people. She had an inviting, warm smile & would quickly make friends wherever she went. She loved her children unconditionally and supported them in all their endeavors. She enjoyed cooking & baking for friends, neighbors, family & her daughter's coworkers. She was a loyal, kind, generous, loving woman who will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. She was mom, sister, Auntie, Tia, Ciao Ciao & friend to many & we loved her dearly. She leaves an emptiness in our hearts but we are happy that she is in peace & has joined her beloved husband & other family members. Faye is survived by son Robert Trejo Jr. of Healey AK, daughter Linda Thomason of Fremont, sister Lillian Hack of Carson City, NV, niece Michele Roach, brother-in-law Lewis Trejo, adopted daughter Sylvia Zarate & many extended family members. Friends & family are invited to share memories & stories in a celebration of Faye's life on Sat. Jan. 21 at 1 pm at the Holy Angels Funeral Center. Please join the family afterwards for refreshments at the Holy Angels fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association or a local Humane Society.
