Florence J. (Glascock) Papouschek Resident of Manteca, CA Passed away at 5:25 a.m. PDT on July 15, 2009 at the age of 90. Raised on a ranch in Montana and schooled at the now-famous one-room Huntley School of Saco, MT, Flo pursued a career in nursing and served her country honorably as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army on the hospital ship USS St. Olaf in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters during World War II. Long a resident of Union City and recently Manteca, Flo remained active with the Veterans of Foreign Wars and recently enjoyed outings with the ladies of the Red Hat Society. Dear Family,
I just want to tell you that I was not able to attend the funeral, I'm sorry to say.
I've tried several sources to try to get an address so that I can send a Mass/condolence card. I was unable to get that info.
I am adding this note to tell you that I will have a Mass said for your mother.

I knew Florence for many years at OLR. She was my favorite lady in the Guild. I knew we had a special connection from the beginning. I miss her friendship very much. We always had fun when we worked together at the Friday night dinners at OLR. My last visit with her was wonderful as she still had a head for nursing and a heart for people.

I had the privilege of working with "Pappy" at Kaiser Hospital in Hayward, CA. in the late 60's-70's. She was an exceleent nurse, calm and caring. She was always pleasant and fair with co workers, and a joy to work with. I can't think of a person who did not like her.
i just thought of her a few days ago, wondering how she was doing. I hadn't seen her in about 6 years.
I'm sorry for your loss, and I feel badly that I had not seen her in such a long time.
God bless you, "Pappy"! Annemarie Holley
