Frances Dunham Catlett
July 3, 1908- April 22, 2014
Resident of San Leandro
Frances, avid painter, writer, bowler, and hiker, passed away peacefully at the age of 105 on April 22nd, 2014. Born in Hartford, Connecticut to John and Mary Taylor, she was the youngest and last surviving of ten children. Frances began her higher education at the University of Chicago, received a BA from Boston University, a MA from Mills College, and a MSW from University of California at Berkeley. She was preceded in death by three husbands: Albert Millard Dunham Jr., John Catlett, and Matt Crawford, and by her son Michael Catlett and grandson David Catlett. In addition to a large extended family, she is survived by her son, Kaye Lawrence Dunham and his wife Lorraine, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. Frances and I were old friends having met in 1957 at San Francisco Social Sevices. She had it all in that she worked full time ;raised two sons ; attended art classes at Mills CollegE ; and earned a Masters DegreE in Social Work. what accomplishments!
