FREDERICK ARTHUR CONGDON Entered into rest in Fremont on June 28, 2004, age 65. Born July 23, 1938, in Tonopah, Nevada. Loving husband of 33 years to Karen Congdon of Fremont. Cherished father of Kevin Congdon and Brien Congdon of Fremont. Caring grandfather of Travis. Loving son of Doyle Cole of Hayward. Preceded in death by his mother, Clara Cole. Loving brother of Nancy McAllister of Catheys Valley, Calif., Nancy Carol David of Oakland, Judy Baughman of Sparks, Nev., Arthur Congdon of Sparks, Nev., and J.C. Cole of Hayward. Frederick was an artist, served in the U.S. Army during the Cold War in Germany, was a reserve police officer in Hayward and Newark, and a member of the Machinists' Union; his last employer was Fremont Tharco. Visitation begins Thursday at 5 p.m. Funeral service Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward.
