George Anagnostopoulos Obituary

George Anagnostopoulos May 18, 1947 - Sept. 2, 2006 Resident of Concord George Anagnostopoulos, 59, passed away Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006. A native of Greece, he lived in Concord for 34 years. George was the owner of several businesses in Concord, Pittsburg and Antioch. He was a member of the Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce and the Better Business Bureau. George was an active member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. He enjoyed sports, fishing, camping and travel. Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Georgia; son, Athanasios and his wife, Laura; son, Nikolaos; daughter, Konstandina; grandsons, Christian and Matthew; sisters, Angela Mitsiopoulos, and Christina Alexopoulos; niece and nephew, Christina and Nikolaos Mitsiopoulos; and other nieces, nephews, and extended family members. George was preceded in death by his parents, Athanasios and Konstandina; and a brother, John. Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 8, 2006, at 6 p.m., followed by a Trisagion Service at 7 p.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Concord. The Funeral Service will be Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006, at 11 a.m., also at St. Demetrios Church, followed by burial at Oakmont Memorial Park in Lafayette. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the St. Demetrios Church Building Fund, 1955 Kirker Pass Road, Concord, CA 94521. Pittsburg Funeral Chapel (925) 432-2114
