Dear Gaye, and Family,
I think of Gerry often. He will always be missed, but never forgotten! He lives on in the memories of many. I hope this note finds you all well in these trying times. I wish I could be there on April 8th for the gathering to remember him together. I will visit Gerry's resting place as soon as I can. In the mean time I will raise a toast to a dear friend and Veteran Brother who means so much to all of us who knew him, especially we who served our country proudly as Gerry did. He lives on in our spirits, hearts and minds.
Love and Respect always to you and yours Gaye,
Larry L. Ingram

Dad.... I still can't believe what has happened. I can't believe you are really gone. What a shocking 2 months to endure and in the end sadly loose you. You were my biggest inspiration in my life and I will forever love and remember you. I am so happy that you were here to be a part of my daughters lives. Not sure at this moment how I am going to get thru this loss...it just comforts me greatly that you had no pain thru it all. You are and were one of the most amazing men I have ever known. I love you more than anything!! Your whole family misses you and the kids miss their Papa! The summer at the pool is going to be a sad one without you there. We love you!!

Gaye, and Family
Gaye as you know Gerry was very special to me. During our lives we all tend to drift apart from our times as childhood friends. However, there are happenings in life that can bring us back together. Those happenings usually reunite us enough that we at least correspond occasionally.
That happened to Gerry, you, myself, along with several College Park High School Alumni, and our many friends in 2005. It all started as we all pulled together to build a Memorial at College Park High School to honor alumni, and our fallen friends, brothers, and sons who gave their lives in the Vietnam War. Until then I had not seen Gerry and you in many years. Wayne Morris, and I came to Gerry for help in our endeavor to construct the Memorial along with Vance DeBilzan, and Mike Henderson, and others. Gerry was a huge part of that labor of love. We couldn't have done what he did for the Memorial without him, and no one else could have done it better than he did. He is forever a part of that endeavor and that Memorial Day in 2005.
Seeing Gerry again was a breath of fresh air for me. He was the same guy I had met in our freshman year at CPHS, nothing had changed. Gerry jumped in with both feet to help us out, with no hesitation at all. To him, if it was for a Veteran, there was nothing to discuss, just tell him what you need, and it's a done deal. I admire, and have tremendous respect for that attribute within him. Few have it, until recent years, but he had it, always(!).
He was just so cool, and so much fun to be around. It seems like he and I had just about every class together in High School for four years. That was a good thing to us, we had fun, but, I am not so sure the teachers would agree with that, heh, heh. He was also a much smarter than me, or at least a much better student.
I want his family, his friends, and anyone who didn't know, Gerry was a true American Patriot and Veteran of the Vietnam Era. He shared his stories of the times you both shared together in the US Army, hooaah. He was always a giving, loving, Man, my Friend, and my Veteran Brother, and still is.
He will always be missed, forever loved by all that knew him, and he will never be forgotten, you have my blood oath on that.
Please accept my apologies for not being there today. Between snow in the Sierra's, and my obligations to other Veterans this evening, I cannot be there. I am comfortable with that, although extremely disappointed, however, I know Gerry and you understand. I will be down that way in the near future, and I will contact you before hand. Hopefully we can get together. I would love to exchange some pleasantries and memories from the past and recent times with you, and yours. If you need anything do not hesitate to contact me.
With Much Brotherly Love,
Larry Ingram, Class of 66 CPHS, First Sergeant, US Army, Retired
