Gregory LeBoeuf Obituary

Gregory M. LeBoeuf Resident of Sonoma Gregory M LeBoeuf, 79 years old, died on Monday, November 13, 2006, in Sonoma, CA. He had been ailing from advanced complications of leukemia, asbestosis, a faulty heart valve, internal bleeding, diabetes, and Mesothelioma, a rare cancer caused by asbestos exposure. The impact of his life is more significant than the circumstances of his death. Delivered by midwife, Greg was the first child born to Gregory Joe and Ruth Ann in the rugged, logging town of Ryderwood, Washington, on May 8, 1927. The young family moved to Oakland, California where his father, Gregory Joe, commandeered the barges and tug boats on the San Francisco Bay. Shipping magnate, Henry Kaiser, needed the barges when WWII started, to deliver supplies, and guide Kaiser boats through the Golden Gate. Greg's father had the good fortune of being in the right place at the right time, giving the LeBoeuf family an instant monopoly on SF Bay barges. Greg enjoyed a kaleidoscope of interests throughout his life. He fathered six sons, drove speedy stock cars in Idaho, ran a dairy farm, built a pine-post hay barn, mined gold in Gabbs, Nevada, built docks and bridges around San Francisco Bay, owned a gas station in Sandpoint, Idaho, estimated and purchased materials for Mare Island Shipyard in Richmond, learned and acquired winning stock in the market, and served in the Merchant Marines and Armed Forces. His produce fed the neighborhood in summer and fall. Completing several college courses, Greg's prolific 16-16-16 formula produced tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, zucchini and citrus fruits, which were the envy of his Pueblo Serena neighbors. Greg loved many women, too numerous to list. Greg married Donna, mother of his sons, and Anita. His long term companion was Terra Lerch. Greg is survived by his brother, Richie LeBoeuf of Carson, Nevada, five of his sons, Gary Gene LeBoeuf, David LeBoeuf, Danny LeBoeuf, Jon Paul LeBoeuf, and Scott LeBoeuf. Greg's seven grandchildren include Theodore LeBoeuf, Katie LeBoeuf, Erin LeBoeuf, Michael LeBoeuf, Phillip LeBoeuf, Vincent LeBoeuf and Kelsey LeBoeuf and Great Grandson, Vincent LeBoeuf, Jr. Preceded in death is Greg's brother, Jimmy and his eldest son, Mickey. The memorial of life celebration for Gregory M. LeBoeuf will be held at Pueblo Serena, 951-5th St. W, Sonoma, 95476-9305, on Saturday morning, November 18, 2006 at 10 a.m. Donations will be accepted in the name of Gregory M. LeBoeuf, for the National Cancer Institute for the treatment of asbestosis. Arrangements under the direction of: DUGGAN'S MISSION CHAPEL MISSION CREMATION SERVICE Sonoma, CA (707) 996-3655

Hi Scott and Veronica,

I just heard about your father. Kevin Russell e mailed me with the sad news and wanted your e mail address. It appears that Stephanie read about it in the paper. I just read the obituary myself and it was quite beautiful. I'll see you at the funeral.

God Bless,
Manuel, Lisa and the kids.
