Gwendolyn Miller Obituary

May 7, 1926 - July 9, 2008 Gwen Eleanor Miller was born May 7, 1926 in San Francisco to Edith Marie and William Arthur Miller of Jamaica, West Indies. Gwen passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 surrounded by family. Gwen was a resident of Oakland for 67 years and worked for Pacific Bell/ATT for 36 1/2 years. She enjoyed reading and travel. She was a devout Catholic and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Sisters: Evelyn Belnavis, Jacky Bell, survive Gwen Miller.Deceasedsisters: Frances Miller and Ellen Marshall. Two children: Gwen Miller-Burton and John Miller. Son-in Law, Erniesto Burton. Nieces: Victoria Smith, Sheila Johnson and Ladonya Batiste. Grandchild: Marina Saxon. Great-nephews: Anthony Holloway, Jeremy Moore, Landis Green and Di Carlo Scott. Great-nieces: Karmeshia Wilson and Lyric Johnson, Cousins: Phyllis Housen Fitzpatrick, Icha Housen and Gloria Hall and numerous extended family members. Those who knew Gwen were blessed by her love, laughter and enjoyment of life. Services: Our Lady of Lourdes Church, July 16, 2808 Lakeshore Ave, Oakland @ 10 am. All of her loving family and friends will forever miss her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Salvation Army to feed the poor in Gwen's name.

My sincere condolences to Gwen's family. I know Gwen through Our Lady of Lourdes Church, and will miss her tremendously. I so loved her gentle spirit and caring; she always had such a lovely presence about her. I will always hold Gwen very close in my heart. May my thoughts and prayers lend you comfort at this time.
