Harla passed away surrounded by family after a courageous and long battle with cancer. She was 76 years old. Harla was born in Palo Alto, California on October 1, 1938 to the predeceased Jay and Lois Wood. Harla was predeceased by her brother Ronald Wood and ex-husband Glendon Smith. Harla is survived by her children, Robin Doty (Wayne) of Martinez, Lyndon Smith (Jeanette) of Nevada City, Teri Rozell of Pittsburg and Jonathan Smith of Modesto. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Nicole Doty, Eric Doty (Sheena), Meghan Belsher (Mark), Benjamin Smith, Alexander Smith, Rachel Smith, Mark Rozell, Kevin Rozell and Shelby Rozell. She will also be missed by her great-grandchildren; Emma Doty, Kaleb and baby Belsher, Aliyah and Aiden Rozell and Joshua Del Rio. Harla enjoyed spending time with her family, knitting, embroidery, crafting and bowling. Harla was an avid reader. She enjoyed playing games on her IPad and decorating for holidays.
Services will be held Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 1pm at St. John's Episcopal Church, 5555 Clayton Rd, Clayton, CA 94517. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Huntington's Disease Society of America, American Diabetes Association or American Cancer Society.

When a Christmas card was returned to sender I knew something was wrong. I regret not keeping in closer touch with Harla and her family.in my heart she will forever be my loved friend,l am greatful for the many memories and adventures shared with her. My love to the family.Helen Shamp-Covington
