What a wonderful man. He delivered me in 1959, then in 1991 he delivered my son.
He was our family doctor since the mid 50’s. His practice was in the Center Medical group on Peralta avenue in Fremont.
They started building the Washington Hospital in 1958 which was to become a 50 bed hospital but shortly after construction began they realized that 50 beds wouldn’t be big enough so a 100 bed hospital it was.
My mother told me that when I was being delivered in February of 1959 at the hospital, they were still hanging drywall in the hallways and other areas.
I really liked Dr Rasmussen . He was a brilliant doctor and a very humble man.
When my fiancé and I went to him to him for our blood tests for our wedding certificate he took the time to sit down with us and give us some tips on getting along in marriage and to be gentle and sometimes we need to do things for each other that might seem boring and mundane but it’s important to be there for each other. Run to the rescue with love and peace will follow.
RIP my friend.

We lived a couple of doors down from the Rasmussens on Richmond Avenue. We were honored to know them. Very nice family. Dr. Rasmussen was the one that told me I was pregnant and my son is now 45 years old. He would also walk down and treat us if we needed it. I will never forget you, wish I could have seen you prior to your passing. I am hoping God will bring comfort to your family and I feel just a little bit better knowing that you will be in heaven with my parents… To me you were the best… Thank you Dr. Rasmussen… Chris Parker and the Paul and Betty Parker family...

My mom (Patsy Sanchez) was a 30 year nurse at Washington Hospital and spoke highly of Dr. Rasmussen. God bless to the family.
