Irma Barnes Obituary

IRMA E. BARNES 1933 - 2004 Lifetime resident of San Leandro - Irma Barnes, 70, passed in her sleep early Thursday, April 29th, 2004. Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death, by her husband of 45 years, Don Barnes. In Irma's early years, she was a Nurse at the Naval Hospital and retired from Smith Clothier's after 30 years, where she worked as an Internal Auditor. Irma touched many lives with her devoted friendship and caring. Irma is survived by a devoted granddaughter, Tina Recu of San Leandro and sports fanatic great grandson, Dustin Newcomb, who she enjoyed watching with all her heart; daughter and son-in-law, Margo and John Bueno of Hayward; beloved sister, Evie Veerkamp of Placerville, Nephew Bill and David MacIntosh of Idaho; niece, Rebecca Ramey of Idaho, nephew, John Martinez of Brentwood and family, Terri, Brian and Adam. Her life was enriched by her many "adopted" family members. Per her request, no services will be held. A celebration of her life will be held on May 8th at 3:00 p.m. at the Barnes home.
