Joan Squire Obituary
February 15, 1933 - April 21, 2014
Resident of Diablo
Joan was born in Midland, MI, the daughter of Albert and Nora Wenzel. She graduated from Midland High School in 1951 and earned a B.A. Degree from Michigan State University in Elementary Education in 1955. She married Dana D. Squire on June 11, 1955 and taught in the public schools of Midland for several years.
Joan is survived by her devoted husband and loving children, Kevin Squire of Valley Springs, CA, Pamela Faria of Diablo, CA and Stephen Squire of Walnut Creek, CA and grandchildren Joshua, Taylor and Kyle Squire, Kaitlyn and Logan Faria and Seth, Sebastian and Soren Squire. She is also survived by her brother James A. Wenzel of Midland, MI.
Friends and Family are invited to a Celebration of her Life Memorial Service on Friday May 9th, 2014 at 11:00 am at Peace Lutheran Church in Danville, CA.
In lieu of flowers please send any contribution in her memory to Peace Lutheran Church Columbarium Fund, 3201 Camino Tassajara, Danville, CA 94506.

Joan lived around the corner from me when we were kids, so often played together. One day she asked me if I'd like to help her set up toys at the hardware store. This was during WWII, so toys were made of wood & cardboard. We put many things together for display & sale with a screwdriver & drill. We kept in touch a bit through college. We'd unexpectedly meet on campus at times & would stand and talk. This led to my working all through high school & vacations while in college. The Wenzels were very good to me. I've often wondered what she did with her life and am sorry that I didn't know anything until now.

Dear Dana and Family, I am sorry to hear of Joan's passing. I took care of her parents Albert and Nora many years ago.
