Joel Spinola Obituary
July 24, 1937 - June 24, 2015
Resident of San Leandro
Joel Spinola passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Born on July 24, 1937 in Pt. Richmond, California. Joel graduated from Richmond Union High School in 1955. He attended Contra Costa Jr. College, received a BS in Accounting from Fresno State University, and MBA and Masters in Taxation from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. He practiced as a CPA for 30 years in the bay area. Joel was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma, parents, Joseph and Elsie, and brother, Donald. He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Walters (John), grandchildren, Andrew and Emily, nieces, Stephanie and Stacie Spinola, and many cousins and friends. Joel was a professional golfer and played on the PGA tour from 1962 to 1965. He loved golf all his life and won many tournaments. He was a member at Sequoyah Country Club for 30 years. Most of all he loved his family. He will truly be missed. The family wishes to thank all his loving and sweet caregiving angels that have been part of his life with dementia. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Saturday, July 11th, at 10am, at Fairhaven Bible Chapel, 401 MacArthur Blvd, San Leandro, CA 94577. Golf attire is encouraged. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Joel's name to the Fresno State Men's Golf Team. Checks should be payable to: The Bulldog Foundation/Par Busters Club, P.O.
