John Paul Caudle

March 22, 1943April 28, 2008 Contra Costa County John passed Monday at his home in San Ramon, just over a month beyond his 65th Birthday. He is survived by his sister Jackie, his sons John & Joshua, daughter Jessica, and grandson Shawn. John completed undergraduate work at the University of California, Berkeley, was commissioned an officer in the United States Air Force in 1965 and graduated from Boalt Hall School of Law, Berkeley in 1968. John practiced defense litigation, and was a member of the State Bar of California, the American Bar Association, the American Board of Trial Advocates, the Contra Costa County Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, and the Northern California Association of Defense Counsel. John served as an arbitrator, mediator, and as a settlement conference advisor in both Contra Costa County and Alameda County and sat as judge pro term in Contra Costa County. John was the Alameda County Lawyer of the Year for 1991. An avid sportsman, automobile collector, traveler and golfer, John is already greatly missed.
