Joseph Frederick Bauhofer

JOSEPH FREDERICK BAUHOFER Sept. 1, 1910 - Feb. 9, 2008 He was a former owner/operator of Cloverdale Creamery in Fremont. He drove his milk routes until he was eighty-four years old! He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Lorna M. Bauhofer. Loving father to Rhondda L. Parker and husband, Sidney E. Parker and Robyn L. Evans and her husband Ronald B. Evans. Dear grandfather to Megan, Kyle, Jeremy Parker and wife Jennifer, Brynna, and Lucas Evans. Devoted great-grandfather to Joshua Parker. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Dear cousin of Elly Roche. Predeceased by his parents, Emma and Joseph Bauhofer Sr., brother, William N. Bauhofer, and sisters, Emma Alesso and Lily Wipfli. He loved gardening, stamp collecting, reading, milk bottle collecting, and watching old movies and television. He was a great joke teller. Joe was a veteran of World War II and enjoyed reminiscing about his time in the South Pacific and Australia. Joe was also a member of the American Legion, post 0837, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Native Sons of the Golden West, Washington Parlor #169, and Aelpler Gruppe of Newark. He was a former longtime member of Newark Kiwanis and Wilhelm Tell Verein. Joe treasured his friends, customers, and especially his family. He will be greatly missed! A memorial service will be held in his honor Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 11am at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, 94536. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Lung Association, Salvation Army, or the veteran's organization of your choice.
