Joseph See Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the untimely passing of Joseph See. Joe was a loving husband, devoted father, cherished brother, and dear friend. His unfailing reliability made him a pillar of support and he never hesitated to lend a helping hand. The notion that all people should be dealt with generously and fairly was intrinsic to his nature and evident in all his interactions. Joe was born in Walnut Creek, California, the youngest of six. The deep connection, love and camaraderie with his siblings and extended family was a source of strength and joy throughout his life.Joe was a man of many talents and passions. He could quickly assess a complex situation and articulate what was important. He was funny and kept us laughing with witty one-liners. He was a builder with a rare ability to look at a sorry situation and visualize, then realize, beauty and functionality. He could fix anything and didn't hesitate to take on projects that would intimidate the best of us. He loved to cook and was the keeper of traditions when it was time for the family ravioli recipe, and excelled when paella for 50 was called for. He planted vineyards and made wine, planted an olive orchard and milled oil and shared these and myriad other joys with others. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert See, and mother, Dolores See. He is survived by his wife Linda, daughter Aurelia, son Ryan, sister Debbie (Will), brother Robert (Claudia), brother Dave (Patty), brother Christopher (Diane) and brother Adam (Anne). His memory will be upheld through every kindness offered, every concert attended, and every meal cooked with love. His family remains eternally grateful for the profound positive impact he had as a father, husband, brother and friend.A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday July 19 at 12 p.m. at Tilden Park's Brazilian Room.In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Doctors Without Borders, World Central Kitchen, The J.F. Kapnek Trust, or your charity of choice.

Joe will certainly be missed - amen that he could fix anything, had an awesome collection of tools, was a great cook and loved to laugh. Was also very good at "capture the flag" and bocce.

The See family has been a gift to the Owl Hill and Glorietta neighborhood. Linda, Leah and Ryan, I am sorry for the early loss and I hope your many memories bring some comfort.

Joe was a living and breathing example of how to be a dedicated husband, father, and friend...and if there are any other words to describe what a man should ever hope to become we are at a loss to find them. He will be sincerely and completely missed.

Our thoughts and prayers and hopes are with his family during this difficult time.

Our larger than life Joe-how he will be missed. The man could do anything, find common ground with anyone, and took care of his family like a papa bear. He set a great example for all and will be so dearly missed. Love to you, Linda, Leah, and Ryan.

Words that perfectly capture the essence of a life well-lived! We cannot begin to express how much we will miss Joe See. The larger than life man with boundless energy, a passion for life, beautiful blue eyes, the best head of hair and a heart of gold. An amazingly devoted husband, father, brother and friend. We will forever cherish all of our moments together, small and insignificant to grand and adventurous. With each meal we share, each toast we make, each concert we attend, each adventure we go on near or far, we will do this in honor of Joe!
Love, Beth and David
