Most of the athletes I knew back in the day affectionately referred to coach as "Fogie". Mr. Fogelstrom came to Clayton Valley High School in 1969 as a teacher and a coach. I started CVHS as a freshman student in 1965 so I got to know coach Fogelstrom. Coach was a tall, handsome strong looking man who had that tough Clint Eastwood look most of the time. Nobody gave coach Fogelstrom any lip as he was a very tough guy. I saw coach a few years ago at a local gym here in town and he looked amazingly good to me. We had a short conversation about the old days and new and I never saw him again. I know coach was devoted to his students and the athletes he helped train and shape their lives, and we are all better off for having Mr. Fogelstrom in our lives. Rest in peace Mr. Fogelstrom.
