Leonard Camara Obituary

LEONARD ROY CAMARA Feb. 20, 1951 - Feb. 26, 2007 Passed away on Feb. 26th, shortly after his 56th birthday. Son of Rose and Manuel Camara Sr., he was born in Oakland Ca. He was also a long-time resident of Castro Valley and Hayward before moving to Brentwood in 2003. Leonard was a talented designer, an accomplished cook and an entrepreneur. As a youngster he worked along-side his mother Rose and father Manual, learning the floral business from the ground up. As a young man, he combined his culinary expertise with his business skills and established The Ravioli Factory, providing fresh pasta, catering, and a good old fashioned deli. Eventually he returned his deepest passion - flowers. He was the co-owner of Boulevard Florist and Gifts in Castro Valley for over 24 years. Since moving to Brentwood he founded Dexter Dogs, a hot dog establishment named after his beloved dog Dexter. His life centered around sharing his gifts to bring pleasure to those around him. His spirit and charisma will remain in the hearts of everyone he touched. Leonard is survived by his brothers Manual Camara Jr of San Leandro and Robert Camara of Minden Nevada; cousins William Camara of San Leandro and Linda Lee Dodge of San Ramon; cousins Ruth Camara, Renee Leca, Elaine Sunday and Michael Camara, devoted friends Sydney Wagner of Brentwood and Brett Burton of Marysville; a large extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and many, many friends who will miss him dearly. A memorial mass will be held at All Saints Catholic Church in Hayward on Tuesday Mar. 27, 2007 at 10:30am. Interment with military honors will follow at 2;00pm at the V.A. National Cemetery 5810 Midway Rd. Dixon, Ca.

I miss you every day now!!
You are my dearest friend. I know you are happy now with all your family and mine in "Heaven", running around gabbing with everyone, your like a "Butterfly", lovingly touching everyones lives and putting smiles on their faces and rearrangeing all the flowers and how beautiful they are. They are lucky to have you there. And we are lucky to have had you in our lives.
The best part of all of this, is your free of pain, and we will be together again one day soon.
Dexter dog too.
"God Bless" you,
