Marilyn Caires Obituary

Marilyn A. Caires
December 15, 1930 - October 26, 2021
Resident of Rio Vista, CA
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our Mother Marilyn at age 90, who was raised in Pacheco, California by her late parents Louis and Margaret Christen.
Her grandfather Josef Christen, a Swiss immigrant, had a dairy farm on several acres and fresh milk and cheese were a part of her childhood.
She was a 1948 graduate of Diablo High School in Concord, California. Our Mom was a wonderful baker and known as the "Pie Lady". She was an Avon Representative for 40 years in Fremont, California.
In 2003 she and our Dad moved to Trilogy in Rio Vista. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Edward Caires and sons Gregory and Edward Jr.
She is survived by her 4 daughters Christine, Cecilia, Diane, and Virginia and 3 sons Bruce, Craig, and Victor and spouses, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren plus a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Mass service presided over by Father Mervin Concepcion will be held at 11 AM Tuesday November 16, 2021 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 130 S. Fourth St., Rio Vista, California 94571. A luncheon reception will follow at the Church Hall. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice in Marilyn's memory.
