Marjorie Brucker Obituary

MARJORIE JANE BRUCKER 12/11/22 - 9/25/07 Marjorie Jane (McMahon) Brucker has come to the end of a long and wonderful life. She is survived by her husband, Richard P. Brucker and her eight children: Linda Pearl, Susan Rhodes, Nancy Brucker, Marcia Kelley, Richard Brucker Jr., Elizabeth Phillips, Christopher Brucker and Carol Coates. She is survived by her seven grandchildren: Corrie Slyder, China Martinelli, Cassie McGinty, Sunny Hope, Roman Brucker, Jordan Bruckopoulos and Daniel Coates. She is also survived by her five great-grandchildren: Nathan Martinelli, Sam Slyder, Carter Martinelli, Owen McGinty and Ryan Slyder. Marjorie was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. She met Richard Brucker in high school and was engaged to him during World War II. They married on June 8, 1946. Several years later they moved to Northern California and raised their eight children there, living in Hayward, Castro Valley and Danville. Marjorie was a wife and mother who provided a warm and loving home for her husband and children. Marjorie loved to travel and once the children were raised, she and Richard took many trips to Europe and Switzerland. A favorite local place to go was Lake Tahoe and she spent many happy times there with her husband, her family and her friends. Marjorie loved music of every kind and there was always music playing in her house. She was very proud of her Irish heritage and enjoyed visiting Ireland several years ago. Marjorie was preceded in death by her father Edmund McMahon, her mother Myrtle McMahon, her brothers Edmund and Gordon McMahon, her sister Patricia Courts and her granddaughter Marjorie Bruckpoulos. If the worth of a person's life is measured by the lives she touched, then Marjorie's life was rich and abundant. She lived her life dedicated to the family she and Richard created. Marjorie was the touchstone her family always turned to. She was a wise counsel in times of turmoil and the first to encourage her children to live life to its fullest. She was a devoted wife, a loving and patient mother and a proud grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family will honor her memory in shared stories and memories for years to come. She will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her forever. "I'll find you in the morning sun and when the night is new, I'll be looking at the moon, but I'll be seeing you." In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
