Hi David, Cindi and I were glad we could be there today for you. We were profoundly undone at her memorial service today by the steady stream of co-workers from Livermore Post Office, a lodger who rented a room from her, her male hair stylist, Scuba diving buddies, family members and many others who shared far more than nice stories and memories. I have never been to a memorial in 35 years of ministry, where every person that shared had been radically transformed at the deepest level of personhood by one person. I wish we had known Marla better ... I hope we can leave just a fraction of the life giving imprint on others that we heard Marla left on everyone she incarnated Jesus to. Our take away... The true measure of a life well lived for God is how many people in the end found love, redemption, grace, compassion, healing and transformation by our life and love toward them. Thanks Marla ... We saw Jesus much more clearly today than we have in the past. We will be better for it. You touched us deeply today. David please know our love and prayers are with you.

I will miss my dearest friend Marla. She was a loving and Godly person who loved her Lord and Savior. She always loved you no matter who you were weather she new you for 5 minutes or a lifetime. She always made you happy even if you weren't and her smile lite up the room and made me always feel warmth and peace.I am very glad that I was able to be her friend. We had many good times some fun some sad but anything sad got better with Marla. I will be with you one day but for now you are with our Lord and Savior even though your time here with us was cut to short the Lord needs his Angel up their with him, I couldn't be more happier to know that she is next to our Lord with no suffering or pain. I will miss your sweet gentle comforting voice and all the times we had in bible studies and women retreats you were a wonderful woman of God.Until we meet again my friend may you rest in peace. All my love my friend.

David, I am truly sorry for your loss, I know that you and Marla had only a short time together in life, but you came into her life and made her so happy. She touched everyone she met. We were all so very blessed to have her in our lives,it was just not long enough. I am so glad you came to visit this summer, I will keep that memory in my heart forever.

To David and Marla's Family. I only met you briefly at a reunion picnic for David's Hard of Hearing and Deaf Classmates in Hayward , CA. I am so sorry for your loss David, words can't begin to comprehend what you are feeling. I just know that time will help you heal and keeping the happy memories that you have of your wife will help lessen the pain of missing her. She was a very nice person when I met her 2 years ago at the picnic in San Leandro, CA at the Marina. I wish our classmates could have gotten to know her more. Love you David. Anne Spencer Cormier
